SANTA CLARA, CALIFORNIA, December 12, 2006 - Xelerated, the price/performance leader in network processing, today announced that its XeleratorTM X11 network processor has been selected by ZTE for the next generation High-End Enterprise and Metro Ethernet Platform, already committed for deployment by multiple operators to support VPN and triple play services.
ZTE selected the Xelerated X11 network processor (NPU) for this strategic platform because the Xelerated NPU is user-programmable and offers the flexibility to meet the changing requirements in the Metro Ethernet market. ZTE has evaluated many network-processor and ASIC solutions, and Xelerated's X11 NPU is the one that can fulfill ZTE's performance and feature requirements for triple play services.
The X11 NPU will be deployed in ZTE's High-End Enterprise and Metro Ethernet Platform. The ZTE Metro Ethernet platform has been selected by multiple operators globally for deployment to support triple play services.
