Xelerated Packet Devices Appoints New CEO from Ericsson

STOCKHOLM March 15, 2001 - Xelerated Packet Devices, which develops and markets network processors for the new generation Internet, has appointed the former Head of Marketing and Sales of Ericsson routers for wireless networks, Johan Börje, as its new CEO.

In a short period of time Xelerated has successfully attracted a number of the best professionals in the network industry. Already, a number of people with experience from similar projects at Cisco, Ericsson, SwitchCore, NetInsight and LSI Logic have joined the company.

Johan Börje brings several years of experience in marketing and sales in both Sweden and internationally. At Ericsson Johan managed key customer accounts as well as the market introduction of new products, most recently focusing on the introduction of IP technology in mobile networks. Prior to his positions at Ericsson he also held positions at the European Free Trade Association and the Federation of Swedish Industries. Mr. Börje holds a Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Linköping and Cranfield Institutes of Technology.

Xelerated's former CEO and co-founder, Johan Hellqvist, will take on the role of the company's Chief Operating Officer, COO.
