SANTA CLARA, CALIFORNIA, January 5, 2007 - Xelerated, the price/performance leader in network processing, today announced that its XeleratorTM X11 network processor has been selected for Next Generation Metro systems by Fujitsu Limited.
Fujitsu is a leading provider of customer-focused IT and communications solutions for the global marketplace, with an extensive product portfolio for a wide range of networking needs. Xelerated's X11 network processor has been chosen for feature rich, high-performance line cards in Fujitsu's next generation Metro systems.
"Fujitsu's choice demonstrates the growing customer momentum behind Xelerated's network processors," said Linley Gwennap, principal analyst of The Linley Group. "We see increasing opportunities for network processors in the Metro market, where operators require flexible services with deterministic performance. By meeting these needs, Xelerated has the potential to win a significant share of Metro equipment designs," he concludes.
The 20 Gbps full duplex XeleratorTM X11 network processor was chosen by Fujitsu because of its price, performance and power advantages. The network processor is based on a unique dataflow architecture that simultaneously delivers ASIC-level efficiency and full programmability. The architecture inherently guarantees deterministic, low latency packet behavior, regardless of packet size, traffic pattern or number of instructions used per packet.
"We are very pleased to be a part of Fujitsu's platforms. This further solidifies our leading position in our key markets and our ability to deliver dependable solutions to tier-one customers," said Johan Börje, CEO of Xelerated. "Being selected by one of the leaders in Metro systems for worldwide deployment is an important milestone for us," he concludes.
