Xelerated’s X10q Family of Network Processors Named one of EDN’s Hot 100 Products 2003

BURLINGTON, Massachusetts, December 18, 2003 - Xelerated's X10q family of network processors - the industry's only programmable 40 Gbps network processors - have once again been chosen as one of the best 100 Products by the readers of EDN Magazine. The winners are selected based upon reader response to the various products reviewed in EDN.

Xelerated is recognized as the only network processor vendor having combined the efficiency of an ASIC with the programmability of traditional network processors. This extraordinary efficiency translates into the most cost effective solution with the highest performance and lowest power consumption on the market.

The company's first generation of network processors, the XeleratorTM X10q family, is based on an innovative data flow architecture and consists of three products: the X10q-e, optimized for enterprise Ethernet and OC48 solutions; the X10q-m for advanced metro Ethernet applications; and the X10q-w for the high-end Sonet/SDH products. The efficiency of the data flow architecture sets a new standard for cost/ performance, delivering 40 Gbps of wire speed throughput while dissipating less than 10 Watts and costing only $490.

"It is an honor to be named one of the best 100 products 2003 and a great testament to the outstanding performance of our architecture," Johan Börje, CEO of Xelerated. "Our novel solution to network processing has proven that it is possible to design high performance network processors that enable our customers to replace its existing ASIC solutions."

Being acknowledged by EDN's readers as the top 100 products this year adds to Xelerated's list of industry awards and recognition received for its XeleratorTM X10q family of network processors, including the Network Processor Conference (NPC) awards for Best Network Processor 2003 and overall Best of Show 2003, as well as being named among EDN's top 100 products 2002.
