SANTA CLARA, CALIFORNIA, January 19, 2005 - Xelerated today announced that the X11 network processor - the first network processor optimized for Ethernet applications - has been awarded the product of the year award for best packet processor 2004 by the editors of the on-line technology news source analogZONE.
This year's products have been selected by the editors of the analogZONE based on their strong technical merit, design innovation and marketability.
"Xelerated has found a sweet spot in the networking market by adding Ethernet-specific functions and 20 GE MACs to its powerful recursive pipeline architecture. Their latest spin of the architecture has been optimized for Gigabit Ethernet applications enabling them to deliver enormous performance and flexibility, at a price-per-port that challenges fixed-function silicon," says Lee Goldberg, Editor, analogZONE.
"We are honored to receive this prestigious award from the editors of the analogZONE," says Gary Lidington, Vice President of Marketing at Xelerated. "This is a tribute to our design engineers and the uniqueness of our dataflow architecture. We have already secured several customers for the X11 and I see that between the X11 and the X10q we are well positioned to take a substantial share of the metro Ethernet market," Lidington concludes.
Being acknowledged by the editors of the analogZONE as the Best Packet Processor 2004 adds to Xelerated's list of industry awards and recognition received for its XeleratorTM family of network processors, including the prestigious Microprocessor Report Analysts' Choice award for Best Extreme Processor 2003, the Network Processor Conference awards for Best Network Processor and Best of Show 2003, as well as being named among EDN's top 100 products 2002 and 2003.
